A few interesting events from February 1965

I missed one significant event for January. On January 9th the biggest landslide ever recorded in British Columbia, the Hope slide, occurred.  They still don’t really know the cause of the slide. It killed 4 people. I remember driving by this area as a kid. It was terrifying to see the huge boulders sitting beside the highway and hearing that there were still people buried under the rocks. On that fateful day, a greyhound bus driver stopped and turned around when he saw some rocks falling and narrowly missed being caught in the slide.
